Smith and Wesson M&P 15

My new gun finally came in.

I've only put 100 rounds (Remington 55 grain fmj) through it so far, but here is what I can tell you:

The Magpul rear sight is fantastic
Out of the box, it was sighted in at 100 yards. I shortened it up to ~75 because of the kind of shooting I will normally be dealing with
I had 1 double feed in the first 100 rounds, and that was after ~20, and before it had been cleaned
The fit and finish is excellent
The gun is more accurate that I am, but even being this unfamiliar with it, and shooting offhand, I was able to reliably hit a 4" target ~40 yards
Kick is negligible. I'm actually shocked at how little kick and muzzle climb there is
Ear protection is a must. I ordered a few other pairs of muffs so I can pass them around next time we go shooting. Only shooting 6 rounds left my ears ringing for ~24 hours the first go round

All in all, I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Combine that with the fact that I got a hard case for it from my in laws and I'm a very happy camper. As of right now, I don't plan on putting any additional optics on it, but that may come later on. Right now, it's just time for me to buy some ammo, practice up, and see how accurate/fast I can get with it.

Sounds very positive. I have one in lay-a-way that I expect to payoff in the next 60 days. It looks like you got a nice case in the pic. What kind did you get?
