I provide a managed hosting and administration service for websites based on Drupal.

The website you are on right now is a very simple version of what you could have. You can post blog entries, have a forum, have static pages (like this one) or embed a widget/service from a third party site (think twitter).

Many very high profile sites like Whitehouse.gov use Drupal

The services I can provide are flexible, but in general, here is what I do:

• I purchase a domain for you, this can be a new domain, or we can use one that you already own
• I build a website for you using Drupal. While it's being built, I typically set it up as a sub version of my site (yoursite.dustinhess.com).We experiment with the site until you are happy with how it's setup, and all the content is added
• I setup a server that will host your website. This server only hosts your website and is located in one of the top data centers in the US, so it will be fast. This will host your site, and up to 5gb of files that you may need to link to on the site. This includes stuff like pictures and forms.
• I setup your sever to backup both the files and the database in a different location every 24 hours
• Once you are happy with the site, i collect the startup fee, and we make the site go live. We move yoursite.dustinhess.com to yoursite.com. One month from that date and for each month after that, I collect the monthly fee.
• I will setup your site so that you can sign into it from any computer and make changes as you want
• If desired, I setup your website with email through Google Apps. The first 9 email addresses are free. This solution lets you have a you@yoursite.com email address that looks and acts similar to a gmail.com account. There is no charge for the first 9 accounts
• If desired, I will set your site up with Google Analytics so that you can track how many people are visiting your website.
• If desired, I can also provide you with an account that will let you upload files to your site via ftp. I will gladly give you a quick tutorial on how this works
• If you would prefer a more "hands off" approach, that's fine too, just send me the updates that you want done to the site via email, and I will log in and make the changes for you.
• On a ongoing basis, I make sure that both the server that runs your site, and the site itself says up to date, if there are any problems with the site, all you have to do is email me, and I will start working on it ASAP

My services do not include the following:

• Hosting videos. This can be arranged, but to be done properly, requires a different setup and billing based on usage. Contact me for details.A cheaper, and simpler solution to this would be to upload your videos to youtube, and we can embed them in your page from there.
• Moderating user comments if you choose to allow them
• Building a custom theme. There are lots of free themes out there, and I'm willing to experiment with several till we find one that works. If you decide you want a custom one built, I'll help you find a designer and work with them to get your site up and running

The startup fee is $200, and only needs to be paid when the site is first put up, and if you desire a total re-design later on. The monthly cost is $50

If at any point in time you decide to stop hosting your website with me, I will provide you with all the files and databases that make up your site, and transfer the domain to a registrar of your choosing.
